摘要: Abstract The present study was designed to trace the normal development of local and global processing hierarchical visual forms. We presented pairs shapes children adults asked them indicate whether two were same or different at either level. In Experiments 1 (6-year-olds, 10-year-olds, adults) 2 (10-year-olds, 14-year-olds, adults), we stimuli centrally. All age groups responded faster on trials than (global precedence effect), but bias stronger in diminished adult level between 10 14 years age. Experiment 3 left right field so that they transmitted first contralateral hemisphere. when (left hemisphere); reaction times independent field. results suggest by hemispheres have adultlike specialization for shapes, least attention is directed versus Nevertheless, their greater suggests 10-year-olds are less able modulate output from channels–perhaps because ignore distractors perhaps cerebral engage parallel processing.
