摘要: Most definitions of visual impairment focus on the status better-seeing eye only, but this approach might underestimate influence worse-seeing vision-related quality life (VRQoL). We assessed distance-corrected acuity in both eyes and VRQoL using “National Eye Institute 25-Item Visual Function Questionnaire” (NEI VFQ-25) German population-based Gutenberg Health Study. calculated Rasch-based functioning scale (VFS) socioemotional (SES). categorized (BE) (WE) as follows: (1) no (VI) (  0.5 logMAR). Next, subjects were with VI (no/no), mild (no/mild), VI/severe (no/severe), (mild/mild), light (mild/severe), severe (severe/severe). median scores for VFS SES. used linear regression to estimate combined BE/WE included 11,941 participants (49.9% female, age range: 35–74 years) information acuity. The VFS/SES 90/100 (no/no group), 84/97 (no/mild 81/94 (no/severe 70/90 (mild/mild 67/74 (mild/severe 63/76 (severe/severe group). These differences supported by analysis results. Relying function considerably underestimates impact VRQoL.
