摘要: This paper explores population change and related land use in the Apache Highlands, an ecoregion that straddles US–Mexico border. The study begins with a brief overview of Highlands’ as it has evolved over past several centuries. Maps more recent geographic distributions reveal spatial demographic patterns help to identify causes ecoregion. An examination distribution respect areas high biodiversity suggests relationships between biodiversity, including human density beyond which is compromised under variety uses. closes recommendations for conservation planning implementation this ecoregion, noting important role protected but acknowledging some impacts, such those on fresh water, often persist regardless protection.
