摘要: There has been tremendous progress towards the development of responsive polymers that are programmed to respond an external stimulus such as light, pH and temperature. The unique combination molecular packaging followed by slow, controlled release cargo is particular importance for self-healing materials drugs. While much focus remains centred around synthetic carriers, viruses virus-like particles can be considered ideal carriers they intrinsically designed package, protect deliver nucleic acid host cells. Here, we report encapsulation a stimuli-responsive self-immolative polymer within assemblies Cowpea Chlorotic Mottle Virus. Upon photo-irradiation, undergoes head-to-tail depolymerization into its monomeric subunits, resulting in slow cargo. We propose liberated monomers small enough diffuse through pores virus capsid shell offer alternative strategy loading unloading using carriers.
