摘要: Summary The formation of podzols with well-marked iron pans on boulder clay soils overlying chalk is described. A sub-peat soil at Goodland to be regarded as a fossil two podzol profiles superimposed. The upper formed in relatively short time prior the growth blanket bog following tillage which helped accelerate rate podzolization occurred. pan Torr has developed during past hundred years. an impermeable humuslayer within top few inches such leads waterlogged conditions suitable for development over them. This humus layer effectively seals underlying from or gleying conditions. Accepting hypothesis that soil, chronology proposed using archaeological material dating evidence.
