摘要: Abstract This paper reviews evidence pertaining to the Common Ingroup Identity Model for reducing intergroup bias. model proposes that bias and conflict can be reduced by factors transform members cognitive representations of memberships from two groups one more inclusive social entity. Theoretically, a common ingroup identity extends or redirects motivational processes produce positive feelings toward former outgroup members. It is proposed prerequisite features specified contact Hypothesis (Allport, 1954; Cook, 1985), such as equal status between memberships, cooperative interdependence, opportunity self-revealing interactions egalitarian norms, successfully reduce bias, in part, because they help members' perceptions “Us” “Them” “We”. Evidence laboratory experiment, survey studies involving students attending multi-ethnic high school executives who have experienced corporate merger, field experiment fans college football game are summarized.
