Older migrants in Europe: an innovative focus for migration studies

摘要: This article introduces the eight papers in this collection, all of which arose from deliberations and research projects members a European Science Foundation Scientific Network. The thematic focus is intersection migration personal ageing. has three aims themes, first being to provide summary account diversity older migrants contemporary Europe. A key distinction between people who migrate, former labour those accompanied them have `aged place'. Both groups attracted innovative since early 1990s. Other migrant trajectories', such as return move internationally late-life live near or with close relatives for support care, received much less attention, lacuna that some issue begin correct. second aim synthesise principal personal, societal welfare implications growing number `older migrants' across Europe, emphasising there are both similarities surprising differences amongst diverse migrants.
