摘要: The ecological and genetic correlates of parthenogenesis are clarified by focusing upon two the major challenges that confront a newly arisen parthenogen: disruption results from backcrosses with sexual relatives, evolution highly generalized genotype. Both these factors have been ignored in previous theories reproductive systems. Yet, geographic ranges, characteristics, elevated ploidy levels, hybrid origins many parthenogens, as well widespread suppression recombination automicts, consistent expectations derived destabilizing hybridization general-purpose genotype hypotheses.
