摘要: Background The neurologic manifestations of HIV include a spectrum HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders, as well cluster symptoms and signs. have been modified but not eradicated by antiretroviral therapy (ART). We describe the phenotype in South African patients with predominant HIV-1 subtype C infection on ART its association impairment efavirenz 8-hydroxy-efavirenz concentrations. Methods conducted cross-sectional analysis examination findings HIV+ used multiple linear regression to explore associations impairment, efavirenz, pharmacokinetics (plasma CSF). Results included 80 participants established (median 40 months) which 72 (90%) were female. median age was 35 (interquartile range [IQR], 32-42) Global Deficit Score 0.94 (IQR 0.63-1.36). found between signs: gait (slow walking speed [p = 0.03; R2 0.06], ataxia Conclusion that individual signs associated could be clinical practice assess severity.
