摘要: Neutrophils are mediators of innate immunity and motility is critical to their function. We used microcontact printing investigate the relationship between density adhesive ligands dynamics neutrophil motility. show that neutrophils adopt a well-spread morphology without uropod on moderate densities adhesion ligand. As increased, switches classic amoeboid shape. In addition morphological differences, were quantitatively distinct. Well-spread cells uropods glide slowly with high persistence, while made frequent directional changes migrating quickly low persistence. Using an antibody panel against various integrin chains, we fibronectin mediated by MAC-1 (αMβ2). The phenotypic switch could be generalized other surface ligands, such as bovine serum albumin, which promiscuous also binds. These results suggest capable displaying multiple modes dictated environment.
