摘要: Advances in genome sequencing technology have revealed the gene content and extensive genetic diversity organisms ranging from yeast to man. A major challenge of post-genomic era involves assigning function thousands genes that essentially comprise a cellular “parts list’ assembling these into coherent networks reveal how interact work together coordinate cell function. This is made more difficult by buffering genomes against environmental perturbation, which make majority individual eukaryotic dispensable for life. Genome-scale screens interactions offer potential overcome this uncovering functional redundancies relationships between seemingly unrelated genes. In addition delineating wiring diagram cell, mapping on large scale should shed light general principles rules governing provide valuable information regarding important but elusive relationship genotype phenotype, further our understanding fundamental basis complex human disease.
