摘要: The genus Bacillus produces mainly polypeptide antibiotics such as bacitracin and polymyxin. species were isolated from soil by sprinkle technique. And all screened for the production of antibiotic. subtilis MH-4 gave maximum antimicrobial activity so finally selected optimization. During optimization culture conditions best antibacterial was obtained at 96 hours incubation period, pH-8 using glycerol carbon L-glutamic acid nitrogen source. Optimum temperature antibiotic 37 degrees C. confirmed to be paper chromatography. Antibiotic further extracted successfully with 1-Butanol, aqueous concentrate showed 0.8 mg/ml. produced found narrow spectrum active against only Gram-positive bacteria.
