摘要: Optical maser action at the R2 line in ruby has been observed. Because of a fast thermal relaxation between two 2E levels, it is not usually possible to satisfy conditions when stimulated emission occurring R1 line. However, if can be suppressed line, even high inversion, made occur by appropriate selection operating conditions. This accomplished using, for end reflectors, multilayer dielectric interference filters which have transmission and low The requires correction absorption coefficients lines based on Boltzmann distribution excited states. When made, calculations show reasonable requirements pumping threshold reflectivities.
