摘要: Abstract Background: Older patients with heart failure preserved ejection fraction have severe exercise intolerance. Vitamin D may play a role in cardiovascular and skeletal muscle function, therefore be implicated intolerance fraction. However, there are few data on vitamin status its relationship to capacity patients. Methods: Plasma 25-hydroxyvitamin (25[OH]D) (peak oxygen consumption, [VO2], 6-minute walk distance) were measured 112 older (mean ± SD age = 70 8 years) 37 healthy age-matched controls. General linear models used compare 25(OH)D between controls, determine the cross-sectional association capacity. The left ventricular function was evaluated secondarily Results: concentrations significantly lower vs controls (11.4 0.6 ng/mL 19.1 2.1 ng/mL; P = .001, adjusted for age, race, sex, body mass index, season). More than 90% of had insufficiency ( Conclusions: insufficiency, 30% frankly deficient. Lower associated peak VO2 distance fraction, suggesting that could contribute this patient population. These findings provide rationale future randomized trial designed test potential supplementation improve
