摘要: In the present study 123 patients with chronic pain, consecutively referred for symptomatic pain treatment, were given peripheral conditioning stimulation as an analgesic measure and followed 2 years or till they terminated treatment. The was either conventional transcutaneous nerve (TNS) [35] of mainly cutaneous afferents high frequency (10-100 Hz) acupuncture-like TNS [11] where muscle nerves are activated at a low repetition rate (1-4 small trains stimuli. follow-up showed that 55, 41 31% continued treatment after 3, 12 24 months, respectively. About 30% had to use get useful analgesia, defined desire patient continue Three-quarters successfully relieved reported more than 50% relief measured from visual analogue scales half these increased social activity decrease drug intake by 50%. Psychogenic visceral pains less suitable It is concluded valuable therapy in cases both should be tried before considering implantable devices destructive surgery.
