摘要: Abstract The aviation sector is currently responsible for 2.6% of global carbon emissions. Carbon emissions the are expected to increase by 3–4% each year due rising demand air travel. use bio-jet fuel derived from carinata (Brassica carinata) a potential solution mitigating sector. This study determines suitable sites growing across three southeastern states Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. Suitable edaphic (average soil storage, organic carbon, root zone depth) climatic variables (temperature) along with historical land trajectories were used determining suitability production. weights decided surveying experts using Analytical Hierarchy Process. also determined susceptibility frost events in season 2010 2017. Finally, composite risk was calculated multiplying probability damage risk. Considering minimum level 5%, about 45.56% (0.77 million ha) 0.81% (0.01 Alabama 3.04% (0.05 Florida carinata. Depending upon yields, total production between 1.87 3.91 metric tons which sufficient producing 980 2045 liters enough replace 1.4%–2.33% current jet consumption United States. Our will feed into policy debate reducing footprint States promote development bio-economy rural America.
