On the outburst amplitude of the soft X-ray transients

摘要: A B STR CT We find a strong correlation between the optical outburst amplitude DV and orbital period P orb for soft X-ray transient sources with periods less than 1 d. By fitting observed values eight transients, we determine an empirical relation that can be used to predict of given only its amplitude: DV\14.36—7.63 log Porb(h). For 12 h absolute magnitude accretion disc during outburst, which then allows us estimate distances sources.
