摘要: Damage to cutaneous nerves inhibits wound healing in patients. Results from animals on the nerve contributions are various and sometimes contradictory. Here, we aim clearly define collective role of central, caudal, rostral ear mice, rats, rabbits. These wounds heal with minimal contraction like humans. We resected at base pinnae by microsurgery created excisional full-thickness skin neurologically downstream resections. Denervation mice resulted no closure for 14 days post-wounding (dpw) led only 17.2% 21 dpw when non-denervated were completely closed. Compared that not denervated sham surgery, denervation showed an increase areas 5.0% 7 dpw a 43.7% reduction 12 dpw rats. In rabbits, attenuated 14.2, 34.4, 28.3% 7, 14, 18 dpw, respectively. Our histological analysis marked impairment pivotal processes, re-epithelialization granulation tissue growth, suggesting regeneration blood capillaries and/or connective wounds. results reveal critical made minimal-contraction healing. study also provides small animal models skins recapitulate human involving surgical or traumatic damages.
