摘要: Aims and objectives In this study, we describe the development of evidence- theory-based fall prevention educational material its evaluation from users' perspectives. Background To reduce risk factors for falling in nursing homes, staff must enact multifactorial intervention programmes. A core component these programmes is to educate residents their family members, both verbally a written form. However, users can only benefit if it based on current scientific evidence, easy understand process customised. Design We followed structured procedure during process, while considering various aspect quality. assess understandability usefulness resulting materials, conducted qualitative content analysis study. Methods The materials incorporated several iterative steps including systematic literature search application frameworks designing writing materials. evaluate material, performed six focus group discussions separately with residents, members two homes (total 32 participants). Results Residents' brochures included clear information avoiding external risks as well coping strategies after event. Family members' were more comprehensive, concrete tips outlining advantages disadvantages interventions. Residents had no difficulties understanding tried apply individual situations. Nursing commented some ambiguities incongruities relating care practice. Conclusions By involving evidence-based achieve high acceptance rate motivate address topic. Implications practice involvement essential developing that meets needs. Educational should be used part an overall strategy homes.
