摘要: The energetics of mineral reactions can be studied by a variety high temperature techniques. Studies phase equilibria, vapor pressure, and oxidation-reduction give values free energies activity composition relations. Calorimetric studies at temperature, both oxide-melt solution calorimetry drop calorimetry, determine heats formation, mixing, melting, transitions, order-disorder processes. Application thermochemical measurements is made to atmospheric pressure phases in the system MgO-SiO2, with emphasis on aspects structure bonding which stabilize olivine, pyroxene, spinelloid, spinel, garnet, ilmenite, perovskite structures.
