摘要: Desertification is a serious global problem and more acute in the case of Pakistan. In Pakistan almost 3/4th land either already affected or likely to be by it. process has been active since historical times areas now-a-days constituting Amongst factors affecting desertification Pakistan, fundamental factor population pressure. Other major immediate physical cause ecological degradation includes: excessive felling trees, inadequate reforestation activities, inappropriate cultivation practices hilly rain fed farming area, uncontrolled livestock grazing forest rangeland. Inadequate efforts with regard watershed protection management catchments reservoirs lead sever soil erosion. Irrational irrigation also enhance degradation. As result such activities vegetation cover destroyed, it leads prevent regeneration grasses trees etc.
