摘要: This study aimed to identify bovine breeds through trichological morphology and morphometry validate this technique by comparing it with genetic characterization. Animals from Caracu, Curraleiro Pe-Duro, Nelore, Bovino Pantaneiro were studied. Morphological morphometric analyses of the guard hairs performed. The cuticular pattern was observed on shaft medulla shield samples. cattle characterization accomplished using microsatellite markers. Statistical performed R version 3.2.4 software. Pearson’s correlation test showed a high positive significant between matrices generated (r = 0,996 p < 0.001). Trichological analysis is useful method for breed identification. Its potential identifying other species interest animal production should be studied since simple, low-cost, non-invasive method.
