Shape memory properties and microstructural evolution of rapidly solidified CuAlBe alloys

摘要: Abstract In this work, the effects of Be addition on microstructure and phase transformation temperatures Cu–12Al–xBe (x = 0.4, 0.5 0.6 wt.%) shape memory alloys fabricated by using arc-melting melt-spinning techniques have been investigated. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that arc-melted consisted austenitic β 1 , martensitic ′ γ 2 precipitate phases, whereas melt-spun ribbons were composed a fully phase. The average grain size phases in was determined electron microscopy images, showing decrease with increasing Beryllium (Be) amount. Moreover, it found had distinct effect morphology Transmission showed thickness plates reduced addition. differential scanning calorimeter analysis, no (M s ) peak observed alloys, but clearly detected ribbons, which M decreased dramatically improvement ability explained terms refinement plates.
