摘要: Abstract 6 mm thick AZ91 casting alloy plates were subjected to normal friction stir processing (NFSP, in air) and submerged (SFSP, under water), microstructures tensile properties of the experimental materials investigated. After FSP, coarse as-cast condition are replaced by fine equiaxed grains network-like eutectic β-Mg 17 Al 12 phases disappear changed into particles pinned at grain boundaries. SFSP results further refinement comparison with NFSP, average sizes NFSP alloys 8.4 ± 1.3 2.8 ± 0.8 µm, respectively. XRD reveal that intensity diffraction peaks specimen decreases compared NFSP. Due significant refinement, strength elongation increased from 262 MPa 18.9% for material 282 MPa 25.4%, (282 MPa) is nearly three times BM (105 MPa). an effective approach refine size enhance alloy.
