Microstructural evolution and ductility improvement of a Ti–30Nb alloy with Pd addition

摘要: Abstract Small amount of Pd addition to β-type Ti–Nb-based alloys can stabilize the β-phase and suppress coarsening brittle ω particles in as-cast states formation dendritic structure a Ti–30Nb (wt.%) alloy, resulting room temperature ductility improvement. The alloy fractured manner due precipitation with large size more than 50 nm; while Ti–30Nb–3Pd exhibited tensile elongation (34%) could be cold-rolled directly at temperature.
