摘要: Glaucoma is one of the leading causes visual impairment and blindness. Lowering intraocular pressure (IOP) only proven means to slow or halt disease progression among those at higher risk developing glaucoma with early moderate more advanced glaucoma. Recent publications have highlighted potential for increased rates likelihood worsening larger IOP swings within defined time periods. The purpose this systematic, comprehensive review analysis literature was assess state knowledge in area changes over impact such on treatment. Current indicates that a random measurement poor surrogate levels throughout day across visits. We address several key questions: 1) What best way measure IOP? 2) Should multiple measurements be performed office (short-term fluctuation)? 3) Is night required? 4) clinicians begin long-term fluctuation patients under stable treatment (across days visits)? 5) therapy choices influenced by properties different options relative short- fluctuation?
