摘要: The recent growth of conservation biology has demanded that faster and more effective measures biodiversity be utilized. Arthropods, due to high levels diversity their relative ease capture, are often the subject such surveys. vacuum sampler, used quite in context agricultural arthropod surveys, never been adequately evaluated or compared traditional collection techniques relatively complex ecosystems. purpose this study was determine whether sampler less than a sweep-net measuring California coastal sage scrub. results show significantly individuals were collected by per unit effort for three out six orders arthropods examined. In addition, greater number species technique two sampled. There no significant differences remaining four orders. We feel these findings important studies utilized efforts as can attain level efficiency sensitivity (with regard detection) cannot. © Rapid Science Ltd. 1998
