摘要: Hardware middleboxes are widely used in datacenter to provide network functions such as firewalls, intrusion detection system, load balancers, etc. Unfortunately, the hardware unable offer customized for individual tenant. To this end, software have been introduced which flexible customers. The arrival traffic of one tenant is first distributed pre-allocated chain and then delivered application servers With regard complicated communication intra-middleboxs, middleboxes-to-applications intra-applications traffics, we propose vMAP, a joint middlebox placement algorithm effectively use limited bandwidth inside datacenter. vMAP leverages model tenant’s requirement both provides an effective virtual machines (VMs) minimize consumption datacenters. further addresses scaling problem by reserving few free VMs resource based on probability variable workload. Extensive simulations current large-scale topologies verify that can accept more requests than prior (e.g., Stratos (Gember et al. Stratos: Virtual first-class entities, University Wisconsin-Madison, Madison, 2012) ) while saving $$\sim$$10% core-level bandwidth.
