摘要: In plants, the meristem has to maintain a separate population of pluripotent cells that serve two main tasks, i.e., self-maintenance and organ initiation, which are separated spatially in meristem. Prior our study, WUS WUS-like WOX genes had been reported as essential for development SAM. this consequences gain WOX1 function described. Here we report identification an Arabidopsis gain-of-function mutant wox1-D, expression level (WUSCHEL HOMEOBOX 1) was elevated subtle defects were observed. The wox1-D phenotype is dwarfed slightly bushy, with smaller shoot apex. also produced small dark green leaves, exhibited failure anther dehiscence male sterility. Molecular evidences showed transcription stem cell marker gene CLV3 down-regulated but accumulated other regions, root-hypocotyl junction at sites lateral root initiation. fact size leaves than those wild type suggests expansion possibly affected order have partially retarded organs, through alteration pattern An S-adenosylmethionine decarboxylase (SAMDC) protein, SAMDC1, found able interact by yeast two-hybrid pull-down assays vitro. HPLC analysis revealed significant reduction polyamine content wox1-D. Our results suggest plays important role Arabidopsis, via regulation SAMDC activity homeostasis, and/or regulating expression.
