摘要: Abstract Objective Noise is one of the most common causes hearing loss. Approximately 16% American teenagers (12–19 years) have loss caused by loud noise. The implication noise-induced (NIHL) in has received increasing attention. Although temporary threshold shift (TTS), a type NIHL, transient loss, it can accelerate age-related Reactive oxygen species are primary cause TTS. As polyphenols from Ecklonia cava known to potent antioxidant effects, we investigated protective effects purified polyphenolic extract (PPEE) against TTS mice. Methods radical-scavenging activity PPEE was evaluated using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl assay. PPEE + Noise and Saline + Noise groups were administered intraperitoneal (100 mg/kg) saline, respectively, for 5 days before exposure noise at 100 dB SPL 60 min. Hearing ability assessed following auditory brainstem responses distortion product otoacoustic emissions. Results exhibited significant radical scavenging activity. ABR shifts 1 day after 16 kHz 1, 7, 14 32 kHz, significantly less than group. One exposure, mice group showed degree protection relation their DPOAE level f2, 17, 28 kHz. Conclusions These findings suggest that may be potential preventive agent In addition, as food ingredient approved United States Food Drug Administration, those who exposed inevitably with little likelihood adverse thereby contributing prevention
