摘要: The Ginkgo biloba extract (GBE) has been reported to have a wide range of health benefits in traditional Chinese medicine. aim this study was evaluate the antihyperglycemic effects GBE on streptozotocin- (STZ-) induced diabetes rats. Diabetes male Wistar rats by administration STZ (60 mg/kg b.w.) intraperitoneally. (100, 200, and 300 mg/kg administered orally once day for period 30 days. Body weight blood glucose levels were determined different experimental Serum lipid profile antioxidant enzymes hepatic pancreatic tissue measured at end period. Significant decreases body ability increases glucose, profile, peroxidation observed STZ-induced diabetic glibenclamide daily days reversed above parameters significantly. possesses antihyperglycemic, antioxidant, antihyperlipidemia activities chronic rats, which promisingly support use as food supplement or an adjunct treatment diabetics.
