摘要: Paper describes the electromagnetic performance of compact-size dielectric lenses typically used as building blocks for integrated lens antennas operating at microwave to optical ranges. Three configurations are studied, namely: multi-shell spherical, extended hemielliptical, and shaped ones. Although usually considered wideband devices whose operation principles based on Fresnel laws, under certain circumstances modal (resonant) features aforementioned can become dominant significantly affect their focusing collimating capabilities. In most scenarios excitation internal resonances is an unwanted phenomenon. Nevertheless, we demonstrate that it be design hybrid-type resonant-lens receivers with enhanced sensitivity achieved thanks exploitation both lenses.
