摘要: ABSTRACT This article seeks to account for the erratic patterns of conflict and cooperation observed in MERCOSUR since 1995. It argues that marked deterioration trade diplomatic relations between Argentina Brazil late 1990s early 2000s is best explained reference domestic political constraints on inter-state cooperation. Two domestic-level dynamics shaped national preferences regional Brazil: state–society intra-state cleavages.
