摘要: We report data from analyses of microsatellite loci 30 grizzly bear family groups which demonstrate that each cub in a litter can be sired independently, and we derive estimates maximum reproductive success for males, an Arctic population northwestern Alaska is minimally affected by human activities. These were made possible the use single-locus primers amplified both individual's alleles at eight detailed knowledge maternal/offspring relationships allowed identification paternal alleles. No single male was responsible more than approximately 11% known offspring, no 49% breeding-age males successfully bred. contribute to understanding genetic demographic basis success, vital importance maintenance small, isolated populations.
