Prevention of age-related memory deficit in transgenic mice by human choline acetyltransferase

摘要: Choline acetyltransferase (ChAT, acetylCoA:choline O-acetyltransferase, EC 2.3.1.6) is the biosynthetic enzyme of neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Here we showed for first time that transgenic mice with human ChAT kept excellent learning and memory ability during aging process. Transgenic were prepared through microinjection into mouse fertilized eggs, PCR reaction was used to screen out mice. The results measurements activity acetylcholine level in brain indicated gene expressed throughout life step-through test water maze suggested improved compared their age-matched littermates. support our idea supplement might serve as a potential therapeutic strategy cognitive deficit.
