CT scan in intraventricular hemorrhage: correlation of clinical findings with computerized tomographic scans of the brain.

摘要: Twenty-three adults who had evidence of intraventricular hemorrhage were identified, and their charts reviewed. Thirteen patients died 10 survived. Eleven the 13 hypertensive. All severe neurological deficit brain stem dysfunction at time admission progressed rapidly to coma death. Two survivors periventricular arteriovenous malformations. They presented neurologically intact remained so. The other eight a distinct clinical course. with focal deficits abnormalities mental status. These persisted, follow-up 3 20 months later they all profound recent memory intellect, none was capable daily self-care. Computerized tomographic (CT) scans not useful in predicting outcome. presence parenchymal clot, multiple chamber involvement, 3rd ventricular ventriculomegaly, midline shift seen groups. Illustrative examples are presented.
