摘要: Infection of wheat and rye by Claviceps purpurea its subsequent sphacelial development was investigated light electron microscopy. Penetration occurred via the stigma ovary wall colonization intercellular. Pectolytic enzymes were detected both in submerged cultures fungus infected ovaries may play a part parasitism. Initially, fungal growth directed towards ovule vascular traces and, within about week, destroyed replaced tissue (the sphacelium). Honeydew began to exude from florets at this stage. Fungal penetration did not extend into rachilla but remained distal core thick-walled cells throughout parasitic development.
