摘要: In the UK, schools are considered vital to realisation of intercultural cities, strengthening community relations and development new forms social learning. This paper brings work on geographies education learning together with challenges living difference, examine how routines repetitive interactions everyday school life shape capacities parents live difference. Utilising research white British at a multicultural primary in Birmingham, builds growing interest spaces theories urban encounter extend that has examined value shared spaces. While attending (re)production difference problematic accounts anxiety, hierarchy belonging fracture community, also examines parental commitments aspirations underpin motivations for dialogue so doing, details existing knowledges ways called into question gradually altered through personal work, pragmatic negotiation practical competencies calls much greater emphasis these small incremental changes future work.
