摘要: Network latency is a problem for all cloud services. It can be mitigated by moving computation out of remote datacenters rapidly instantiating local services near the user. This requires an embedded platform on which to deploy multiple applications securely and quickly. We present Jitsu, new Xen toolstack that satisfies demands secure multitenant isolation resource-constrained ARM devices. does this using unikernels: lightweight, compact, single address space, memory-safe virtual machines (VMs) written in high-level language. Using fast shared memory channels, Jitsu provides directory service launches unikernels response network traffic masks boot latency. Our evaluation shows power-efficient responsive hosting edge while preserving strong guarantees type-1 hypervisor.
