摘要: Health disparities by gender constitute an important yet often overlooked aspect of health around the globe. Within United States, there is both a paucity research as well planned programs that take into account how socio-cultural roles and expectations for men women may differentially affect symptoms, access to care, treatment. Viewing women's exclusively function sex (i.e., biological) differences represents narrow understanding does not fully explain gaps in between women. In September 2010, U.S. Department Human Services (DHHS) launched national initiative entitled Coalition Healthier Community (CHC) employ gender-based framework several urban, suburban rural communities across nation. The Office on Women's (OWH) within DHHS funded 10 coalitions ultimately improve girls utilizing approach. This article provides overview focus special issue.
