Experimental and DEM study of segregation of ternary size particles in a blast furnace top bunker model

摘要: Size segregation of pellets in the top bunker (hopper) a blast furnace is an important factor affecting radial distribution charged burden and indirectly also gas shaft cohesive zone. This paper studies size ternary during discharging process hopper model through experiments simulations. The simulations, which are based on discrete element method (DEM), first validated using four experimental cases applying different filling methods. effects various variables, such as fine mass fraction, particle friction coefficients, diameter ratio to coarse (random, layered or industrial filling), well interaction with wall (static rolling friction) investigated. results show that even though many factors affect extent process, most method, coarse, wall-particle static friction, interparticle fraction particles. Reducing particles decreased segregation.
