摘要: OBJECTIVE There have been remarkable advances over the past decade in neural prostheses to restore lost motor function. However, restoration of somatosensory feedback, which is essential for fine control and user acceptance, has lagged behind. With an increasing interest using electrical stimulation sensations within peripheral (PNS) central nervous systems (CNS), it critical characterize percepts evoked by a standardized manner with validated psychometric questionnaire. This will allow comparison results from applications at various system levels multiple settings. APPROACH We compiled summary published reports that were elicited humans used these develop new RESULTS questionnaire was able subjective good test-retest reliability (Spearman's correlation coefficients ranging 0.716 ⩽ ρ ⩽ 1.000, p ⩽ 0.005) 13 subjects receiving through implants both CNS PNS. Furthermore, captured more descriptors (M = 2.65, SD = 0.91) would missed being categorized as 'other sensations', previous (M = 1.40, SD = 0.77, t(12) = -10.24, p < 0.001). Lastly, capture different patterns (Wilk's Lambda = 0.42, F(3, 10) = 4.58, p = 0.029). SIGNIFICANCE aid establishing consistency standardization reporting future studies prostheses.
