摘要: Sloppy identity under ellipsis is generally attributed to the pronoun in being a bound variable. However, sloppy can be licensed structural configurations which variable binding ordinarily blocked. This paper provides solution for this mismatch by reanalyzing pronouns with unexpected readings as E-type pronouns. Under proposed analysis, distribution of such correctly predicted. It will also shown that analysis successfully extended association-with-focus cases.
