摘要: Abstract This experiment was designed to determine whether a statement would be judged more truthful if made by an author whose ideological position known or thought contrary that expressed in the statement. In study, interaction of Source Presence (or Absence) with Statement Congruity Incongruity) primary interest. Over two sources, general hypothesis incongruous Source-Statement combinations credible confirmed. Contrary previous studies, results indicated this credibility increment independent changes source evaluation. The “enhancement pairings” did not generalize later items. Possible explanations for obtained and evaluation effects are offered.
