摘要: Context Despite the growing popularity of qigong in West, few well-controlled studies using a sham master to assess clinical efficacy have been conducted. Objective To study effect on treatment-resistant patients with late-stage complex regional pain syndrome type I. Design Block-random placebo-controlled trial. Setting Pain Management Center at New Jersey Medical School. Patients 26 adult (aged 18 65 years) Interventions The experimental group received qi emission and instruction (including home exercise) by master. control similar set instructions protocol included 6 forty-minute sessions over 3 weeks, reevaluation 10 weeks. Assessment comprehensive medical history, physical exam, psychological evaluation, necessary diagnostic testing. Symptom Check List 90, Carleton University Responsiveness Suggestion Scale. Main outcome measures Thermography, swelling, discoloration, muscle wasting, range motion, intensity rating, medication usage, behavior assessment (activity level domestic disability), frequency awakening, mood assessment, anxiety assessment. Results 22 subjects completed protocol. Among genuine group, 82% reported less end first training session compared 45% patients. By last session, 91% analgesia 36% Anxiety was reduced both groups time, but reduction significantly greater than group. Conclusions Using credible placebo for nonspecific treatment effects, found result transient long-term reduction. positive findings were not related preexperimental differences between hypnotizability. Future should possible confounding influences perhaps use disorders more responsive intervention.
