摘要: Lyme Borreliosis is a common tick-borne disease of the northern hemisphere caused by spirochaetes Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato (B. s. l.) complex. It results in multi-organ with arthritic, cardiac, neurological and dermatological manifestations. In last twenty-five years there have been over 500 reports an Australian Lyme-like syndrome scientific literature. However, diagnoses made these cases primarily clinical presentation laboratory tentative reliability true cause illnesses remains unknown. A number animals introduced to Australia that may act as B. l. reservoirs Lyme-endemic countries, are some Ixodes spp. Haemaphysalis ticks whose geographical distribution matches cases. Four published studies searched for ticks, contradicting results.
