摘要: The development of thin-film electrolytes to operate solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) at a temperature range <500 °C is an active area research for reducing the costs and improving reliability SOFCs broad applications. This paper examines cradle-to-gate greenhouse gas (GHG) impacts thin-film-based considering scale effect compares them with conventional planar tubular based on high-temperature sintering. GHG impact ultra-thin-film generating 1 kW total power was estimated be <400 kg. Despite use relatively energy intensive semiconductor-based manufacturing steps, found lower than that high-temperature-ceramic methods. simpler balance plant design low-temperature benefit low suggest entire system could SOFCs.
