摘要: In this study, the presence of extended spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Escherichia coli in aquatic environments (the Orontes River and an urban wastewater) was investigated. Fifty-four E. strains resistant to cefotaxime were isolated from river waters nearby waste water treatment plant screened for ESBL gene variants, different classes integrons sulfonamide resistance genes. The ESBL-producing further characterized by PhP-typing system, phylogenetic grouping antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Of 54 strains, 14 (25.9%) belonged four common PhP types remaining single types. CTX-M type genes identified 68% isolates. most predominant specific subtype blaCTX-M-15 (n = 36), followed blaCTX-M-1 1). None isolates SHV OXA positive. Most positive 37; 68.5%) harboring sul gene. This study indicates a widespread distribution CTX-M-15 producing surface part Turkey, suggesting reservoir
