摘要: Study objective: To examine the effect of fire department first-responder defibrillation on time to in a mid-sized community with two tiers emergency medical services (EMS) ambulance response. Design: Retrospective cohort. Setting: The study area was region Hamilton-Wentworth, which has more than 445,000 inhabitants and covers 1,136 km 2 (438 square miles). Type participants: We studied 297 victims out-of-hospital cardiac arrest presenting EMS system between May 1, 1990, April 30, 1991. Measurements main results: mean interval decreased from 11.96 minutes 8.50 ( P Conclusion: In our system, first-responders were able provide significantly shorter times attendants. Other systems should review their response consider instituting as one means reducing intervals.
