摘要: Microorganisms are the foundation of marine carbon cycle. Photosynthetic cyanobacteria and eukaryotic phytoplankton in surface ocean use solar energy to convert dioxide into energy-rich organic compounds (“carbon fixation”) that then released when organisms grazed or lysed. This turn fuels a dynamic community heterotrophic bacteria both deep oceans. Over year, oceanic species fix as much do land plants.
